BTEC Performing Arts Diploma (Level 3)

Examination Board:

Pearsons

Entry Requirements:

Merit or above in Performing Arts at Level 2

Why study Performing Arts?

This is a new and exciting course that has been fully accredited by the Department of Education that is in line with all Advanced qualifications in this subject area. BTEC qualifications have completely changed this year to stand in line with A levels and to be fully recognised and respected as an advanced level subject in 96% of all universities across the country.

The National Diploma is the equivalent of 2 ‘A’ Levels studied over the course of a two year programme. This is not a course to be taken in the space of a year. The Diploma is designed to be the substantive part of a 16–18 study programme for learners who want a strong core of sector study. This programme may include other BTEC Nationals or A Levels to support progression to higher education courses in performing arts areas before entering employment. The additional qualification(s) studied allow learners either to give breadth to their study programme by choosing a contrasting subject, or to give it more focus by choosing a complementary subject.
