MATHEMATICS GCSE

MODULAR GCSE

The students in Year 11 are following the AQA B modular GCSE mathematics course. This means that their GCSE grade will be awarded by taking the total marks gained on five modules.

The five modules are:

MODULE 1

This paper assesses Data Handling

  • Worth 11% of final GCSE

MODULE 2

Statistics Coursework

  • Worth 10% of final GCSE

MODULE 3

This paper assesses mostly the number part of AO2 Number and Algebra.

  • Worth 19% of final GCSE

MODULE 4

Number and Algebra Coursework

  • Worth 10% of final GCSE

MODULE 5

This paper assesses mostly the algebra part of AO2 Number and Algebra and AO3 Shape, Space and Measures

  • Worth 50% of final GCSE (Examination in June 2008)

 There are two tiers of entry available
