MATHEMATICS GCSE
MODULAR GCSE
The students in Year 10 are following the AQA B modular GCSE mathematics course. This means that their GCSE grade will be awarded by taking the total marks gained on three modules. There is no longer any coursework component in the mathematics GCSE.
The three modules are:
MODULE 1
This paper assesses Data Handling
- Worth 18% of final GCSE
MODULE 3
This paper assesses mostly the number part of AO2 Number and Algebra.
- Worth 27% of final GCSE
MODULE 5
This paper assesses mostly the algebra part of AO2 Number and Algebra and AO3 Shape, Space and Measures
- Worth 55% of final GCSE (Examination in June 2009)

Higher A* A B C D (E/U)
Foundation C D E F G (U)
Year 10 will be sitting the Module 1 examination in November 2007
