Special Needs
Here at St. Thomas More we believe that all students have an equal right to the richness of life whatever their level of understanding or ability. We have established a whole school policy where parents, students and staff work together in a positive atmosphere allowing students to grow to their fullest potential.
The Individual Needs department deals with every student on an individual basis creating a support/withdrawal/development programme as and when necessary.
In addition, support is offered with homework and individual needs at lunch-time as well as before and after school.
In accordance with the 1993 Education Act the school implements the Stages Register for Special educational needs.
The School Special Needs Co-ordinator is Mrs Mechelle Claxton
