GCSE Examination Board:     AQA
Syllabus A

Content.

Geography is the Window on the World... it puts the knowing into seeing.  In simple terms Geography is the study of where places are, what they are like, what life is like in them and how and why they are changing. Geography helps you to gain a greater awareness of day-to-day life in different places around the world.

The course includes the Study of Rivers, Coasts, Ecosystems, Settlement, Industry, Development and how people have an impact on these things.

Pupils are encouraged to be actively involved in their learning through a variety of exercises like group-work, role-play and IT.  A day's fieldwork is also undertaken where pupils learn more about rivers and some of the fieldwork techniques necessary to complete a successful piece of coursework.

Geography is an excellent subject through which different skills can be learnt and used in a variety of jobs, such as Leisure and Tourism Management, Law and Computing and many more.
