At St Thomas More we are committed to providing a high quality careers education and guidance as an integral part of every student’s education. We seek to ensure that the provision is appropriate to the age, stage, ability and educational needs of every individual and is underpinned by equality of opportunity.
 
We provide opportunities throughout the school to access careers events and talks which are delivered on-site, online and externally with our local community partners (such as Bedfordshire University, Harpur Trust (Bedford Giving), Bedford School (Online Careers Convention) as well as national events (such as school trips to Kidzania and )and we welcome our Alumni back to the school to discuss their own journeys with the students)
 

Future Fridays 

Future Fridays where students will find out about different careers every Friday; It details a video, a day in the life of, qualifications and skills required and current and future salary prospects. This ensures our students are gaining exposure to lots of different career options.

Careers Interviews 

If you feel your child would benefit from a careers interview in school, please email Mrs Bernard, Head of Sixth Form directly so this can be arranged.

Careers Week 

In 2023, National Careers Week took place from 6th to 11th March. Students participated in a number of registration activities to explore different careers during this week. Year 9 took part in a Medical Mavericks workshop on 8th March introducing a number of careers in the NHS with role related medical activities.
